When I think of the west coast of B.C. the one thing that comes to mind is fitness and health. I imagine kayaking around the gulf islands, running along jericho beach, playing tennis around the beach, or just enjoying a good coffee on the seawall.
I’m sure other people don’t imagine these things, maybe they think of shopping along Robson or walking their dogs on the beach. Either way, while people from B.C. tend to take a lot of pride in our health and scenery, each person has their own “thing” about this province. Even within my group of friends, there’s not much overlap in similarities. My routine in the summer is one of jogging, ultimate frisbee, hiking, working out, tennis, disc golf, and then hanging out on patios with a coffee.
I’m just curious what are people’s fitness/health routines? And, are people in B.C., and particularly Vancouverites really that active? Or is it just a small percentage of the population that is always active and gives the appearance that we are a health fit city? After all, you start to recognize the same regulars at the gym, jogging path, tennis courts etc… perhaps the only common routine I’ve noticed with Vancouverites is that we morph moods and personalities when the sun comes out.
I like to go rock climbing at squamish on the weekend. Good pub neaby too!
